THE SUNSET KID - UNDERGROUND RAP ARTIST

With aspirations of becoming one of the illest underground rap artists in the history of rap music, The Sunset Kid strives to give you some of the dopest underground hip hop songs being made today.

Born in Manhattan in 1978 and raised in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn, New York, The Sunset Kid grew up with a passionate love of hip hop beats, rap lyrics, and New York City street graffiti.

Also known as Stoak Burnem, The Sunset Kid was fortunate enough to experience the dawn of a new era, the birth of the hip hop culture, on the streets of NYC where it all started, and has been greatly influenced by such pioneering hip hop artists as the Sugarhill Gang, Afrika Bambaata and the Soul Sonic Force, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run DMC, Slick Rick, Dougie Fresh, Rocksteady Crew, Boogie Down Productions, Rakim, Biz Markie, EPMD, Gangstarr, Kool G. Rap, Big Daddy Kane, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Wu Tang Clan, ONYX, D.I.T.C., The Beatnuts, Boot Camp Click, The Infamous Mobb Deep, and Terror Squad.

Stoak started writing and reciting rhymes on his 14th birthday. He has spent the time since that fateful day mastering his craft, and now boasts credits as an underground rapper, songwriter, and producer.

He released his debut album, Stomp and Crush, in late 2007. He is currently working on his second album.

The Sunset Kid is also the Founder and President of Stomp and Crush.
