STOMP AND CRUSH by THE SUNSET KID

Raw hip hop & rap music. Nowadays, it sometimes seems as though it can only come from the underground.

Then again, that is where it all started, after all.

Bring it back to the roots. Funky beats and fresh rhymes. The way it was meant to be. A time when people were doing it for the love of doing it; not doing it for plays on whatever commercial radio station happened to be "blazing hip hop and R&B" at any given point in time.

It was raw and it was real.

Stomp and Crush is the debut album by The Sunset Kid. 14 original underground joints all written and produced by The Sunset Kid.

The album plays like a throwback to the sounds that came out of the NYC underground hip hop scene of the 1990s.

That was the Renaissance, so to speak, of east coast hip hop in general, and of New York City hip hop in particular. A time when rap acts such as Gangstarr, EPMD, A Tribe Called Quest, Leaders of the New School, De La Soul, Bootcamp Click, Wu Tang Clan, Brand Nubian, D.I.T.C., Nice & Smooth, Redman, Das Efx, The Notorious B.I.G., ONYX, Nas, Mobb Deep, The Beatnuts, and Fat Joe were on the rise, tearing it up and revamping the face of hip hop in the process.
